Digital Recreation of a Photographic Image
Statement of Growth
For this Project, I had some ideas of what to recreate using mainly only the pen tool on the day this was assigned, such as a solider at arms, or the flags at the Olympics, but later that night I was watching a stream of a gamer reviewer "Angry Joe" playing a game for his Next review, an then I thought, what if i just recreate one of his image he got going around the web. so I took this image from his last contest he did where you try to put a caption on it to win some gamer glasses. Sadly I didn't win a pair, but at this image is gonna help with with this project.

For the First part, I broke up the building process to where i did only thing on his Head, then upper body, his hands, then his legs. That All I did before adding any background image, before the first draft was done, I could already tell that his face, or more of his eyes and his hand were not very clean, and look out of place, but I called it good and let the reviewers give some input.

After some feed-back, I went on to add the background of the image, which is suppose to be his command center of a floating warship, kinda like the Helicarrier for "Marvels". the floor and light were a bit of a work just trying to match the style, but I think I got a good result from it, after that, i took some shader to different parts of the background/Joe to give more realistic feel to it like his jacket was. In the end, I came to this, with more improvements made to clean up the face area.

Final add-on and changes made to this was mostly his left hand, it was a bit to big and fat. So after doing some careful resizing of the hand, i then did some last bit of touch up and made sure the whole art was the size of a postal card, which it was. The only thing I believe I didn't add on was a shading to the superman "S" on his shirt, as it stand out by itself enough it didn't need the shading, but it could be a nice add-on touch.

Artist's Statement
The project goal was to recreate an image from any source and recreate using Adobe Illustrator, My reason for choosing this image is because of Joe, who dose a very well job of reviewing video games and alerting us to game that are worth $20,$30, or even $60 dollars to buy and play, and which game to not even buy, even one that might be base on a franchise. Anyway, best part I like about doing this is getting all these details of him and doing this with nothing but a pen tool. The only thing that affected me on this was the facial expression, which might look a bit off. Overall I consider the work perfect, and if i even get my hands on a tablet, I might come back to this and do it again using the tablet, as I draw much better with a pen or pencil in my hand rather then a mouse.
