Text Project
Statement of Growth
The project call for spacing between the words and make a pattern of some sort for the words. So after reading the work of Walter Ong. I decided to go for a jar/vase look with the words. I wrote the first line and used only the first sentence. then for the next 3 sentences, I put them into their own group. after that, i wrote the last of the phrase and made sort of the bowl of the bottom and added the quotation at the very bottom of the page.

After some feedback and looking at the image again, I soon saw that with the suggestion made, it would look more like a ship with 3 sail mass, so I made some modding to the work and reworked the paper to give each it only feel and promote more the statement.

At the end, I shrunk down the quote and brought down the size of handwriting so that it wouldn't be different from the rest of the size of text. Overall I think the project turned out fine, but then again, it up to you and anyone else who looks at this.

Artist's Statement
The work is a typography of a famous speech from Walter Omg. The image looked at could either be the shape of a vase or a ship in the sea. The Idea I had for this was to make the first line by itself, then the next 3 in their own column to make them each stand out with the last being the longest to shape down into a triangle upside-down shape. Overall I think the project turn out good for what it needed to be.
